With the continued rise of healthcare cost, more and more companies are offering wellness and health education programs and tools to employees, according to a survey conducted by the consulting firm of Hewitt Associates who specializes in Human Resources. As of 2002, 72 percent of U.S. companies are now offering some type of health and wellness program. Camille Haltom, a health care consultant with Hewitt Associates noted, “We expect that organizations will not only continue to offer health promotion programs, but look for ways to enhance and expand existing programs for employees.”
